Unlocking Potential Through Support
With over 15 years teaching and  supporting learners in a range of settings from mainstream to more specialised environments, the team have a wealth of experience in supporting children and the adults around them.
Using stratagies to help young people understand their behaviour and learn how to manage and regulate themselves, giving them the tools to be able to cope with their environment in a positive way.

Placement

Apollo provides education, an individualised emotional regulation curriculum and crucial life skills and experiences to children who are demonstrating unpredictable and unsafe behaviors. Apollo offers stability and a sense of belonging to these children and their families in what is an extremely challenging and difficult time. With a focus on building the children's self esteem, self awareness and resilience we offer an individualised approach to support. Each child will receive highly targeted and individualised learning tasks to build their confidence, resilience and support their process in key academic areas. Apollo will work with each child to create highly targeted and individualised self regulation support plans, building them a self awareness of their emotions and equipping them with the language and tools needed to manage their changing emotions safely and respectfully. A sense of belonging and community is lost when children are excluded. At Apollo we structure our week to provide students with community experiences, real life situations and life skills which so often are difficult for these children and their families to share and access safely and positively. Apollo builds a deep understanding of each child we support and are there to support positive, structured and successful transitions into their new permanent educational settings, with Apollo staff being there to support both the child and new setting during transition, providing individual support recommendations and supportive resources already familiar to the child.

Dual Placement

Apollo offers a dual placement for students whose behaviour is disrupting their school experience and for those pupils at high risk of an exclusion. Dual placements offer both the young person and the school some breathing space, where both can access support to move forwards positively. Apollo's dual placements are all different to fit with the individual needs of each young person but will be based on the following; ~ An initial week at Apollo allowing our team to get to know them, their needs and implement strategies. ~ Mainstream school staff accompanying the young person to Apollo to see their strategies in action. ~ Apollo staff accompanying the young person during their visits back to mainstream, establishing routines and strategies within their setting. ~ Close liaison with Apollo and mainstream school staff to support and advice.

Outreach

Apollo Behaviour Support Team offers outreach support to schools for individual children, classes or the whole school. Each school is different and so our support is as individual as your needs. Please get in touch with the team to discuss how we can assist.

Home Support

Apollo understands the complexities faced by families when children are demonstrating responsive, unsafe or unpredictable behaviours. Apollo offers in-home support where routines, family expectations and clear, consistent boundaries are established to provide reassurance and structure to your children and their needs. Apollo works with multi agency teams to provide the support you and your family needs, now.

Headteacher
Lancashire - January 2024

Claire's philosophy of all "behaviour being communication" helps her plan interesting and engaging lessons - lessons that get the best out of even the most challenging of children. Claire uses zones of regulation in her practice and maintains high expectations at all times. She worked closely with parents too, ensuring that "Team Around the Child's" strategy. Claire's positive attitude to education, was infectious in the time she worked in school. The staff room was filled with joy and positivity when she is in there, as was the playground amongst both parents and children. A recent Ofsted inspector described Claire as "extremely creative" having a fantastic relationship with the children, they were eating out of her hand". Claire is an inspirational and very knowledgeable consultant, one who can reach even the hardest of young people.

Dr Neil Hawkes
Founder of Values Based Education 2021

"I had the pleasure of observing Claire's classroom teaching when I audited ********* school. The school had applied to be assessed for the Quality Mark as a Values Based School. Claire's teaching was excellent, she related so very well to her pupils who were motivated and on task. She was empathetically aware of each pupils individual needs and each child's learning. She effectively used the vocabulary of positive values in her interactions with pupils. It was one of the very best examples of a teacher developing an ethical vocabulary that i have ever seen. I was delighted to award the school the Quality Mark as an outstanding Values - based school. Claire made a major contribution to my positive assessment of the school"
